August 2025 - Rwanda

Dukunde Kawa’s Ruli station in Rwanda’s high-elevation Gakenke District produces a bright, complex, and well-balanced coffee with notes of papaya, passion fruit, apricot, lemon, and caramel. Known for its exceptional quality and sustainable practices—including Fair Trade, Organic, and Rainforest Alliance certifications—the cooperative has over 2,000 members, 80% of whom are women. Ruli, its largest and highest-elevation washing station, processes coffee meticulously through hand-sorting, density grading, and extended drying, contributing to its standout flavor and repeated recognition in Rwanda’s Cup of Excellence.
